少林朴刀:手握长柄,心定乾坤 | Shaolin Podao

朴刀,在木柄上安有钢刀,刀柄较长,使用时需双手握之。少林朴刀共有十八式,扫、刺、挑、劈,游刃有余。此刀以回旋式的劈砍为特点,摧枯拉朽,势无可挡,属于杀伤力较大的一种长兵器。

Podao has a wooden hilt and a steel blade. The long hilt needs to be held with both hands. The Shaolin Podao has eighteen moves: sweeping, stabbing, lifting and hacking. Podao features a whirling hack, which seems unstoppable. It is a long weapon with great power.

由于朴刀的自重较大,仅靠胳膊的力量不足以掌控自如,需利用刀柄、刀刃与它本身的重量来带动,顺势而舞。这一过程需要强劲的力量支撑,首先,脚一定要稳,脚上没有力量,很容易被刀带跑,其次是腰部肌肉的力量,支撑习武者挥刀劈砍,撩刀回身。

Podao is too heavy to be controlled with arm strength alone. One needs to make use of the balance between the hilt and the blade to wield it up. This process requires great strength. First of all, keep the feet steady - otherwise you could be overwhelmed by the weapon. The second point is waist strength. It is the basis of chopping and hacking with the heavy podao.


释延鹤是少林寺的一名武僧, 2011年便来到少林寺修习。寺中的清修生活看似平淡,实则辛苦且枯燥。每天五点钟起床,训练,上殿,周而复始。爬楼梯是最日常的基础训练,先小碎步沿着楼梯阶往上跑,跑到顶以后再以俯卧撑的形式爬下来。几年下来,当初一起练习朴刀的八个人中,留下来的只剩两人。

Shi Yanhe is a monk at the Shaolin Temple. He came here to practice martial arts in 2011. Life in the temple seems uneventful, but in fact it's arduous and tedious. They get up at five in the morning, training and praying - all day long.


Climbing stairs is the most basic part of the training. First, they run up with split steps, and then climb down in form of push-ups. There were eight of them at the beginning, but in the past few years only two have made it this far.

 “我在想大家都走了,我一个人在这是不是特别的孤独。但是其实不然,时间久了,少林寺也是我的家。” 自幼对少林功夫的喜爱与向往,让释延鹤选择了坚持。

"Everyone was leaving. I thought I was going to be quite lonely here. But actually, I'm not. As time passed, the Shaolin Temple became my home," said Shi Yanhe. His childhood passion for Shaolin kung fu pushed him to keep going on.

练武能够强身健体,坚持练习,可以改变一个人,不单单是身体上的变化,还有待人处事的方式,在心理上会让人变得更加沉稳,这便是少林武术的禅武合一。

Practicing martial arts could strengthen the body. It changes you by enhancing the physical health and improving social skills. It calms you down and helps you find peace. This is the essence of "unity of Zen and the skills" in Shaolin martial arts.


禅,往往来源于生活。闲暇之时,释延鹤时常会出去旅行,他慢慢喜欢上了这种生活,不时去看看外面的风景,接触不同的人。

Zen often comes from the daily life. In his spare time, Shi Yanhe goes on trips. He gradually fell in love with this lifestyle, going out to see different views and meet different people.

“生活恰恰需要不同的角度去面对它,让我对生活有了重新的认识。懂得了一草一木皆为禅。”

"Life has various angles. Practicing martial arts has given me a new understanding of life. Everything could be Zen," said Shi Yanhe.


习武禅修之外,释延鹤也认识了很多喜欢武术的朋友,他经常在网上分享自己的心得。对他来说,能让更多的人了解、喜欢少林功夫,也是一种对传统文化的传承。

In addition to practicing and meditating, Shi Yanhe has made many friends who share his interest in martial arts. He often talks about his experience online. For him, to pass on the traditional culture also means to let more people know about it and eventually fall in love with Shaolin kung fu.
