第十节
摧伏重罪的菩提心
SECTION 10. The Bodhichitta That Destroys Grave Misdeeds
另外，如果相续中具有珍宝菩提心，即使是死后必定立即感受的五无间罪等，也会基本上清净无遗。
Moreover, if bodhichitta arises in one’s mindstream, even the five heinous actions*, which can make the doer suffer immensely right after death, could basically be purified with no residue.
假设剩下一点点儿，也只需要在地狱中感受如毛线团从地上弹起般短暂的痛苦。
Even if a little misdeed does remain, the person need suffer in a hell realm for only as briefly as it takes for a yarn-ball to bounce back up from the ground.
正如寂天菩萨所说：
As Śāntideva said:
“如人虽犯极重罪，然依勇士得除畏，若有速令解脱者，畏罪之人何不依？
Like entrusting myself to a brave man when greatly afraid, by entrusting myself to this (awakening mind) I shall be swiftly liberated, even if I have committed extremely unbearable wrongs. Why then do the conscientious not devote themselves to this?
菩提心如末劫火，刹那能毁诸重罪，智者弥勒谕善财，彼心利益无限量。”
Just like the fire at the end of an age, the awakening mind instantly consumes all great wrongdoing. Its unfathomable advantages were taught to the disciple Sudhana by the wise Lord Maitreya.
《入菩萨行论》第一品是简略宣说了菩提心的功德利益，而详细的道理，在《华严经》中以二百三十多个比喻有广泛阐述，有必要从中去了解。
The first chapter of The Bodhisattva’s Way of Life concisely explains the good qualities and benefits of the awakening mind, while detailed elaboration can be found in The Avataṃsaka Sūtra, in which over 230 metaphors were used to expound this topic extensively. Thus it is necessary to refer to The Avataṃsaka Sūtra.
*The five heinous actions are killing one’s father, mother, or an arhat, maliciously injuring the Buddha, and creating
schism in the Sangha.
