7月31日，中共中央总书记、国家主席、中央军委主席习近平在中央政治局第二十二次集体学习时强调，要奋力推进国防和军队现代化建设。周报君摘录了2013年以来习近平关于军队建设的经典语录。内容如下：

Chinese President Xi Jinping, also General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, presided over a group study session of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee on July 31 in Beijing. He stressed advancing the modernization of the national defense and armed forces at the meeting. Edited excerpts of Xi’s speeches since 2013 follow:
