Hong Kong Bans Visitors & the Sale of Alcohol
From the 25th, all non-Hong Kong residents will not be allowed to enter Hong Kong by air.
On the afternoon of March 23, the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Mrs Carrie Lam, held a press conference. At the meeting, she announced that due to the continuously increasing imported risks of the new coronavirus pneumonia epidemic, from the early morning of March 25, all persons who are not local residents of Hong Kong will not be allowed to enter the Hong Kong International Airport. The measure will be temporarily implemented on the 14th, and transit services at Hong Kong International Airport will be suspended. No other person entering Hong Kong via the Mainland, Macau, or Taiwan may have entered Hong Kong if they have visited other overseas areas within the past 14 days.
In addition, the SAR government plans to amend the relevant regulations to stop the sale of alcohol in 8,600 bars and restaurants in Hong Kong. Private clubs with land held by the SAR government will suspend the opening of entertainment facilities.
