Guangdong Opens its Borders to those Entering from Macau
Effective 6 am July 15th, people who enter Guangdong province from Macao will no longer be subject to centralized isolation for 14 days of medical observation.
Newly diagnosed patients, suspected patients, close contacts, and those with fever or respiratory symptoms are excluded from the new rule, including those who have travelled abroad within 14 days before coming to Guangdong.
Before entering the country, qualified personnel must go to a qualified testing institution approved by Guangdong and Macao for nucleic acid testing, log in to the "Macao Health Code" and convert it to the "Guangdong Health Code" within 24 hours before entry, complete the customs health declaration, and obtain the "customs clearance certificate". If both the nucleic acid record and the declaration record are normal, customs clearance can be performed normally; if the "Customs Clearance Voucher" shows that there is no valid nucleic acid record, a paper certificate of a negative result of a valid nucleic acid test can be carried along with the "Customs Clearance Voucher" to show with the customs clearance together.
The announcement also mentioned that people entering from Macau can only travel within 9 cities including Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Foshan, Huizhou, Dongguan, Zhongshan, Jiangmen and Zhaoqing. Among them, Macao residents working and living in Guangdong Province and Mainland residents returning to Guangdong from Macau are limited to activities within the scope of Guangdong Province after entry. Within 14 days after entry, you need to log in to Health Code system every day to use the "Hong Kong and Macau Entry Persons Health Declaration" function to declare personal health status. If the scope of activities is expanded without authorization or relevant regulations are violated, the qualification for exemption from centralized medical observation for 14 days will be cancelled and classified according to the relevant regulations of the two governments.
