What is it?

The State Council has decided to carry out the Seventh National Census in 2020 to provide a basis for decision-making by the Party Central Committee and the State Council in formulating population-related policies.

Why every citizen has an obligation to actively participate in the census?

The information you provide will have a direct impact on formulating and improving in the following aspects which are closely related to your life:

● future income

● consumption 

● education 

● employment

● pension 

● medical care 

● social security and other policies

● the arrangement of educational and medical institutions in your area

● construction of service facilities for children and the elderly 

● the distribution of industrial and commercial service outlets

How?

During the census, the census taker will register the population information in your place, and you may need to fill the information they need. After filling all the information required result and the verification code will then be sent in SMS to you for confirmation of the uploaded information.

In order to save the registration time, please know the basic information for each of your family member in advance, such as the ID Card No., educational background, current address of the member(s) in other places, and a person knows all these information shall stay at home to ensure the accuracy of census registration.

*The census taker will carry out the census work by wearing the certificate issued by the census agency of the people's government at or above the county level.

Will the information I provide be kept in confidentially?

The information you provide will be encrypted and uploaded directly to the database of National Bureau of Statistics. We will strictly abide by the Statistics Law of the People's Republic of China and Regulations on the National Census, and keep the information you provide confidential.
