Failure to Park Shared Bikes Properly Will Result in Fines
On September 10, Shenzhen officially launched the pilot ahigh-precision fixed-point parking for Internet rental bicycles pilot project on Xili Street, Taoyuan Street, Bao'an District, Xin'an Street, Xixiang, and Nanshan District streets.
▲The standard parking of shared bicycles is in parking spots.
Bikes equipped with the "Beidou high-precision positioning" can tell whether the bike is in the designated parking spaces and will charge the rider for failing to return the bike to one of them. Riders that are unable to find designated parking spaces can search for nearby parking spots in their app.
▲The system prompts that a dispatch fee is required if the bike is not returned to the right place.
All in the APP
●If you park the bike outside of a designated parking area, you will be charged RMB 5 for dispatch;
●If you park the bike outside of the operating area, you will be charged a dispatch fee of 20 yuan.
How can I know where the designated parking area is? In the Qingju Bicycle app, for example, users can see the operating area and the location of the nearby parking spots.
Another interesting feature of this new system, is that bikes parked in no-parking areas cannot be unlocked by other users. Operation and maintenance personnel will be dispatched to return them to their operating areas.
Traffic department:
This will be extended to the city as soon as possible
The Shenzhen Municipal Transportation Bureau surveyed and mapped the coordinates of the bicycle parking frame to provide all Internet bicycle business enterprises with necessary public information.
Internet bicycle operating companies as Qingju, Haro and Meituan need to put (replace) new Beidou high-precision positioning vehicles in the pilot area, and the positioning accuracy must reach the sub-meter level;
Service agreements will be updated to require users to pick up and return the bike to a fixed point, and enter the parking frame for settlement;
▲The shared bicycle is equipped with Beidou high-precision positioning.
The Shenzhen Municipal Transportation Bureau stated that the bureau will quickly advance the management model to other regions and cover the whole city as soon as possible; at the same time, it will use this experience to deeply explore the application scenarios of the Beidou satellite navigation system in the transportation field, and actively promote Innovative applications in other areas of the transportation industry in Shenzhen to achieve efficient and orderly management of the industry.
Haro Travel previously revealed that after taking the lead in implementing this model, Shenzhen users' fixed-point return rate has reached over 95%, which has a significant effect on improving the previous random parking problem.
