学历:本科以上学历,工商管理、公共管理、社会科学等相关专业

工作经历7年以上与政府及私营部门开展项目合作的相关经验

语言要求:精通英文

Duties and Responsibilities


Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Identify scalable project ideas to implement the SDGs at the sub-national level, and based on that design and negotiate projects (seek approval) with key partners for implementation.

  • Analyze potential partners for the UNDP in government and private sector, develop cooperation models for effective and impactful implementation.

  • Lead a UNDP cross-sectoral task force and SDGs team to implement the SDGs agenda.

  • Advise the Management Team on strengthening the office’s overall partnership strategy in support of UNDP Country programme and outreach.

  • Pursue and strengthen partnerships and develop pipeline projects, coordinate follow-ups and potential leads.

  • In coordination / cooperation with the programme teams finalize project proposals, including implementation mechanisms, key activities/deliverables, budget and timeline, and identify optimal implementation support from all programme teams.

  • In support of SDGs implementation incorporate other related development topics (green planning, carbon development, big data, innovation etc.) in projects.

  • Provide training advice and materials to office staff in partnership building, partly related to providing development services consultancy.

  • Review, and develop the China office partnership strategy and where needed.


Outputs and Deliverables

A number of new partnerships (at least 2 at scale) with regional or local governments developed and 1-2 large scale projects developed. Where applicable develop private-public partnerships (PPP)

  • At least 2 of the current SDGs localization projects are scaled up. 

  • At least 1 trainings on partnership building delivered.

  • Resources mobilized from public and private partners for implementation.


Competencies

  • Extensive experience in mobilizing resources and forging partnerships.

  • Ability to work with Chinese officials, governmental and non-governmental institutions, civil society organizations, research institutes and private sector.

  • Having an extensive network in the Chinese government and/or private sector.

  • Ability to communicate and coordinate effectively with potential partners in Chinese.

  • Be self-motivated and independent.

  • Excellent understanding of the China situation, politically and economically.

  • Native Chinese language computer literacy in Microsoft Office and internet applications

Beijing Volunteer Service Federation (BVF) is now recruiting fellow researchers for theState of the World's Volunteerism Report 2018 of the United Nations Volunteers (UNV).

1. Background

The State of the World's Volunteerism Report (SWVR) published by the United Nations Volunteers (UNV) every three years aims to provide evidence-based knowledge of the role and impact of volunteerism. The last report was released in 2015, with a specific focus on 'transforming governance'. The theme for the next SWVR, which is scheduled for 2018, has been proposed to be 'community resilience'. Participatory methods and other qualitative research methods will be adopted in order to achieve better results. The Beijing Volunteer Service Federation (BVF), established in 1993 under the guidance of Beijing Youth League, has been selected as the agency to support the research. Currently, BVF is in partnership with UNDP/UNV and CICETE in implementing the phase III project entitled “Strengthening China’s Involvement in the Development of International Volunteer Service through South- South Cooperation and the Belt and Road Initiative”.  The participation of China in SWVR 2018 is marked as a significant step for the internationalization of the research and practice of China’s volunteer activities.

 

2. Objectives

 

In order to ensure the quality of the research, BVF now is seeking for qualified candidates to provide professional support, either academic or logistic, to the National Volunteer Researcher of UNV China. 

3. Description of the tasks 

The Fellow Researcher/Research Assistant will be based in BVF office. Under the primary supervision of the Deputy Secretary General of BVF and under the guidance of Policy Specialist for Volunteerism Knowledge and Policy for SDGs (VKIS), the Fellow Researcher/ Research Assistant is expected to undertake the following tasks:

 

·      Literature review: gain a deeper understanding of the concept ‘community’, ‘resilience’ and ‘volunteerism’ within the context of China;

·      Research plan: adjust the research plan based on the discussion with the National Volunteer Researcher of UNV China;

·      Data collection: assist in data collection (focus group discussion and key informant interview) and analysis (transcribing and coding);

·      Reporting: assist in drafting report;


4. Qualifications and Working Hours

 

·      An advanced degree (Research Master or PhD) in social science, development studies, international relations or relevant study programme, with substantial research experience in urban communities of China. Bechelor degree with proven experience in research will also be taken into consideration.

·      Ability to work both in Chinese and English;

·      Excellent report writing skills;

·      Solid knowledge in data collection, data analysis and research, especially in participatory approaches;

·      Strong communication skills and proven ability to work in a team.

·      The selected candidates are expected to serve for 8 months starting from mid-April, at least 12 hours per week, with the possibility to work during the weekend.

  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills, including the ability to write reports, briefings and programmes ensuring high degree of accuracy

  • Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks, events, projects and an intensive workload to a very high standard

  • Relevant tertiary level qualification

  • A demonstrated commitment to the provision of quality services

 

The ability to travel (domestically and to New Zealand) is also a job requirement..
