➤对于"大龄未婚青年"这个说法，报道中使用的是"the singles in old age"，第一眼看到这个old age就有一种"单身到老"的感觉。其实，所谓的"大龄未婚青年"就是那些已过了社会上的平均初婚年龄，却依然未婚的青年，所以，我们可以用更具体的英文来表达：people who are single and above the median age of first marriage。
➤近年来，"大龄未婚青年"一直是人们热议的话题，因此各种称呼也层出不穷，比如，前几年引发热议的"剩男剩女(left-over men and women)"、"必剩客"(doomed single)、人人喜欢的钻石王老五(golden bachelor)、平庸普通的光棍汉(bachelor)等等。国外一般将大龄女青年称为3S lady，也就是single(单身)、seventies(大多数生于上世纪70年代)、stuck(在寻找伴侣的路上被卡住了)。也有人用SAS来形容"黄金剩女"，即single(单身)、attractive(迷人)，successful(成功)。前段时间，又出现了一个新名词："黄金单身族(golden singles)"，即月平均可支配收入(average monthly disposable income)至少达到8000元的单身男女。

Luxury car 'vending machine'
A "vending machine" in Singapore is offering up luxury vehicles, including Bentleys, Ferraris and Lamborghinis. Used car seller Autobahn Motors in Singapore opened a futuristic 15-story showroom in December, with vehicles on display in 60 slots, billing it as the "world's largest luxury car vending machine". Customers on the ground floor choose which car they wish to see from a touch screen display. The car arrives within one to two minutes thanks to an advanced system that manages vehicle retrieval, the company says. Gary Hong, general manager at Autobahn Motors, said the vending machine format was aimed at making efficient use of space in land-scarce Singapore as well as standing out from the competition. Text neck refers to the neck and upper back pain caused by an excessive and prolonged forward head tilt, such as when texting or performing other mobile device tasks.
"短信脖"指的是由于在发短信或进行其他移动设备操作时，头部过度和长时间向前倾斜，导致颈部和上背部疼痛。
The root of the problem appears to be our heads which, weighing in at 4–5 kilos, are harder to support when we bend over.

With the job market becoming increasingly competitive every year, a growing number of fresh university graduates are opting for "delayed employment".

➤又到一年毕业季(graduation season)，高校毕生的就业动向再度引发关注。近日，智联招聘发布了一份有关2017年应届大学毕业生(fresh university graduate)求职情况的调研报告。调研报告显示，2017年应届毕业生的实际签约平均月薪(average contract salary)为4014元，一线及新一线城市(new first-tier cities)仍然是应届毕业生选择的主要就业地。截至4月，仍有27.7%的应届毕业生尚未拿到录取通知(receive an offer)，仅有26.7%的应届毕业生已与用人单位签约(sign contracts with employers)。更多英语资源请关注蔡雷英语（cailei_sz）在已经签约的应届毕业生中，有38.5%的毕业生选择了与大学专业不对口的工作(choose a job that doesn't match their major at college)。
➤调研还关注了近年来出现的大学生"慢就业(delayed employment)"现象。慢就业，也叫延迟就业，指一些大学生毕业后不打算马上就业也不打算继续深造(pursue advanced studies)，而是暂时选择游学(go on a study tour)、支教(participate in a volunteer teaching program)、在家陪父母或者等待机会自主创业(start their own businesses)，慢慢考虑人生道路的现象。调研数据显示，今年大约有9.8%的应届毕业生选择慢就业。
➤智联招聘认为，一方面，随着越来越多的95后(people born after 1995)走出校园，他们对就业的选择更加多元化，也更加青睐工作与兴趣相结合。但不可否认的是，这也反映出毕业生感知到当前就业形势的严峻性，又不愿屈就不喜欢的工作(give in and take a job they don't like)，因此选择了用慢就业来躲避竞争(avoid the competition)。

real name registration for shared bikes
On Monday, the Ministry of Transport released a draft guideline to encourage and regulate the development of shared bikes, soliciting public opinions for two weeks. The draft requires real name registration for shared bikes.
22日，交通运输部发布关于鼓励和规范共享单车发展的指导意见(征求意见稿)，进行为期两周的公开征求意见。意见稿要求共享单车实行实名制。
➤"共享单车(shared bikes)"是分时租赁营运非机动车，是移动互联网和租赁自行车融合(integration of mobile internet and bike rental)发展的新型服务模式，是城市绿色交通系统(green transportation system)的组成部分，是方便公众短距离出行和公共交通接驳换乘的重要方式。
➤交通运输部22日发布的意见稿要求共享单车实行实名制注册、使用(real name registration for the use of shared bikes)，更多英语资源请关注蔡雷英语（cailei_sz）要求共享单车企业为用户购买人身意外伤害险(personal accident insurance)和第三者责任险(third-party liability insurance)，鼓励其为用户提供免押金租车服务(engourage shared bike companies to waive deposits for users to rent the bikes)，并要求推广运用电子围栏(electronic fence)等技术。
➤意见稿指出，不鼓励发展共享电动自行车(shared e-bikes are discouraged)。根据意见稿，各城市政府要合理布局自行车交通网络和停车设施(reasonably plan bike networks and parking facilities)，建设自行车道和自行车停车点位(designated bike parking areas)。共享单车企业不得向未满12岁的儿童提供服务(be forbidden to provide services to children under the age of 12)。
➤意见稿还指出，要加强信用管理，建立企业和用户信用基础数据库(establish an enterprise and user credit database)，将企业和用户不文明行为和违法违规行为记入信用记录(uncivilized behaviors and violations by enterprises and users will be written into their credit record)，建立守信激励和失信惩戒机制。
