很高兴同大家以视频方式相聚昆明，共同出席《生物多样性公约》第十五次缔约方大会。我谨代表中国政府和中国人民，并以我个人的名义，对各位嘉宾表示热烈的欢迎！
Itgives me great pleasure to meet you virtually in Kunming and jointly attend the15th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on BiologicalDiversity. On behalf of the government and people of China as well as in my ownname, I wish to extend a warm welcome to all the distinguished guests.
“万物各得其和以生，各得其养以成。”生物多样性使地球充满生机，也是人类生存和发展的基础。保护生物多样性有助于维护地球家园，促进人类可持续发展。
Asa Chinese saying goes, “All beings flourishwhen they live in harmony and receive nourishment from Nature.” Biodiversity makes Earth full of vigor and vitality, and lays thefoundation for human survival and development. Protecting biodiversity helpsprotect Earth, our common homeland, and contributes to humanity’s sustainable development.
昆明大会以“生态文明：共建地球生命共同体”为主题，推动制定“2020年后全球生物多样性框架”，为未来全球生物多样性保护设定目标、明确路径，具有重要意义。国际社会要加强合作，心往一处想、劲往一处使，共建地球生命共同体。
TheKunming conference, under the theme of “EcologicalCivilization: Building a Shared Future for All Life on Earth”, has great significance. It will work for the conclusion of thePost-2020 Global Biodiversity Framework, and identify targets and pathways forglobal biodiversity protection in the future. In this context, theinternational community must enhance cooperation, build consensus and poolstrength to build a community of all life on Earth.
人与自然应和谐共生。当人类友好保护自然时，自然的回报是慷慨的；当人类粗暴掠夺自然时，自然的惩罚也是无情的。我们要深怀对自然的敬畏之心，尊重自然、顺应自然、保护自然，构建人与自然和谐共生的地球家园。
Manand Nature need to coexist in harmony. When we take care to protect Nature,Nature rewards us generously; when we exploit Nature ruthlessly, it punishes uswithout mercy. We need to have deep reverence for Nature, respect Nature,follow Nature’s laws and protectNature, so as to build a homeland of harmonious coexistence between man andNature.
绿水青山就是金山银山。良好生态环境既是自然财富，也是经济财富，关系经济社会发展潜力和后劲。我们要加快形成绿色发展方式，促进经济发展和环境保护双赢，构建经济与环境协同共进的地球家园。
Greenmountains are gold mountains and silver mountains. A sound ecology andenvironment is not just a natural asset, but also an economic asset, and itaffects the potential and momentum of economic and social development. We needto speed up efforts to foster a green way of development and secure a win-winof economic growth and environmental protection, so as to build a homeland of coordinatedadvancement of economy and the environment.
新冠肺炎疫情给全球发展蒙上阴影，推进联合国2030年可持续发展议程面临更大挑战。面对恢复经济和保护环境的双重任务，发展中国家更需要帮助和支持。我们要加强团结、共克时艰，让发展成果、良好生态更多更公平惠及各国人民，构建世界各国共同发展的地球家园。
TheCOVID-19 pandemic has cast a shadow over global development and compoundedchallenges to the UN’s 2030 Agenda forSustainable Development. Faced with the dual tasks of economic recovery andenvironmental protection, developing countries need help and support all themore. We need to strengthen solidarity to overcome difficulties and let peopleacross countries benefit more and in a fairer way from development outcomes anda sound environment, so as to build a homeland of common development of allcountries.
