A4驻留 | OPEN CALL：2021 A4国际艺术家驻留项目正式启动

2020我们做了什么？

由于全球疫情，2020年的国际艺术家驻留项目受到巨大的影响，但这并没有阻碍美术馆的运转与项目的持续推进。截止2020年3月15日，麓湖·A4美术馆共收到来自全球44个国家的共计211份申请书，即便物理空间的流动被控制与阻断，我们始终保持与大家的沟通与交流。

在这样的情况下，美术馆尝试了许多新的合作方式，从2020年6月23日开启的“艺术家隔离日志”获得了非常多的关注与支持，我们与全球的共计60组艺术家合作，其中24位艺术家因为项目创作了新的作品，24位艺术家以视频的方式完成了采访，12位艺术家以图片文字的方式回答了采访，为我们分享了疫情之下的不同语言与生活背景下的人们究竟在做些什么。

麓湖·A4美术馆在这个项目中投入了巨大的热情与精力，团队协力完成了中英文字幕听译，文献整理工作，我们也会在今年开启该项目的文献册制作工作，希望项目的任何一次工作都能给大家带去鼓励。

与此同时，利用隔离闭馆期，A4国际驻留艺术中心也完成了成立以来的第二次集中性改造，升级了空间设施与外部环境，采用了新的logo，并集中推出了4个Lab空间与1200平米的全新展厅。

 A4国际驻留艺术中心

最重要的是国际艺术家驻留项目的主体工作也在持续推进，我们最终挑选了19位艺术家参与到我们的项目当中，完成其中9位艺术家的项目工作，并将其中6位纳入到今年首届麓湖社区公共艺术季的项目当中，从预算与团队上给予更多的支持。其他部分艺术家也以线上方式分享、展览的方式进行调整。艺术家廖明明的驻留项目也将在2020年12月19日于今年新投入使用的麓湖·A4美术馆3号展厅中呈现。我们也通过线上的方式与今年无法到达的国际艺术家进行合作，美术馆据此提供了诸如项目现场调研、采访、图纸等多种方式完成沟通，其中部分艺术家也将在2021年完成实地的项目工作。

Due to the global epidemic, LUXELAKES·A4 International Artist in Residence International Exchange Program in 2020 is greatly affected, but this has not impeded the operation of the museum and the ongoing process of the project. As of March 15, 2020, A4 Art Museum had received 211 applications from 44 countries. Even if the exchange in concrete space has been controlled and blocked, we always maintain communication with every artist. 

Under such circumstances,LUXELAKES·A4 Art Museum has attempted many novel methods of cooperation. "60 Days of Lockdown"launched on June 23, 2020 has raised numerous attention and support. We have cooperated with 60 groups of artists around the world. Among them, there are 24 artists who have created new artworks based on the project; 24 artists provided interview videos based on the project and the rest of them replied our questions via letters and images, sharing with us what people living in various cultural background are doing under the epidemic. 

LUXELAKES·A4 Art Museum has devoted a large amount of enthusiasm and energy into this project, the team has worked together to complete the bilingual translation and the document collation. We also start to edit the document book of the project this year. We sincerely hope that this project will bring everyone console and encouragement.

Meanwhile, A4 ARIE Art Center had also completed its second renovation since its establishment during the quarantine period, with advanced facilities and surrounding environment, adopted a new logo, as well as launched 4 labs and a brand new exhibition hall of 1200 square meters.

What's of vital important is that the major content of the ARIE project is always continuing to advance. We finally selected 19 artists,presented exhibitions of 9 artists of them so far by bringing the project of six artists into the first LUXELAKES Public Art Festival and providing them with adequate financial and personnel support. The artist Liao Mingming from ARIE program will also have a exhibition in Exhibition Hall 3 of the LUXELAKES· A4 Art Museum which is newly opened this year on December 19, 2020. The museum provides various methods such as field researches, interviews, blueprints and so on to facilitate further communication with international artists who cannot be Chengdu personally. Some of these artists will complete their on-site projects in 2021.

 2021国际驻留项目正式开启 

疫情还没有停止，麓湖·A4美术馆的工作还在继续进行，我们很高兴地宣布2021年A4国际艺术家驻留项目还将招募为期1-3个月的驻留艺术家、策展人、研究者，截止日期为2021年3月15日。根据成都、横滨、曼谷3个不同的城市项目我们将提供诸如往返机票、住宿、工作室、材料费、沙龙、分享会等部分的支持，并获得来自项目助理以及美术馆团队的专业支持，驻地期间还有机会参与各类活动以及终期展示，深入社区与城市街道，完成不一样的驻留体验。

即使我们还将面对许多未知与困难，A4国际艺术家驻留项目将依旧关注实验、关注在地、关注交流。与今年一样，2021年的驻留结果也将根据实际情况而定。如入选艺术家因疫情相关的不可抗力因素无法达成驻留计划，麓湖·A4美术馆对此深表遗憾，但我们也会积极寻求更多可能的合作方式。

The epidemic has not ceased, and LUXELAKES·A4 Art Museum continues taking efforts on ARIE project. We are pleased to announce that the A4 International Artist in Residence International Exchange Program in 2021 will also recruit artists, curators, and researchers in residence for 1-3 months. The deadline will be March 15, 2021. According to 3 different residential projects based on Chengdu, Yokohama, and Bangkok, we will provide support such as round-trip air tickets, accommodation, studios, material fees, salons, sharing sessions, etc.; also, the artists will also receive professional support from project assistants and art museum team. During the residence, there will be opportunities to participate in various activities and final exhibitions, dive into local communities, thereby complete an unique residential experience.

Even if we still confront many uncertainties and difficulties, A4 International Artist in Residence International Exchange Program will still focus on the work of experimentation, localization and communication. Same as this year, the result of residency program in 2021 will also be determined based on actual conditions. If the selected artists cannot make the trip due to force majeure related to the epidemic, LUXELAKES·A4 Art Museum feels deeply sorry this, but we will actively seek more possible ways to reach cooperation.

Koganecho Area Management Center 

黄金町社区共生艺术计划是推动「艺术作为社区营造方法」的非营利团体。和地区居民、警察、行政单位、企业及大学共同合作。除了每年举办的艺术展览「黄金町Bazaar」，还有邀请艺术家驻留创作的项目，以及向地区开放的学习与交流的场地「黄金町艺术学校」等等。

It’s a non-profit art group for the promotion of [community fostered by art]. It cooperates with the local residents, police, administrative bodies, companies and universities. Apart from the annual art exhibition [Koganecho Bazaar], it also invites artists for residence and organizes the Koganecho Art School Open Day and other learning and exchange opportunities for the local community.

Tentacles is an art initiative founded in 2014. We are focused on providing a platform for emerging and experimental creative practitioners, hosting regular exhibitions and residency program for artists and researchers looking to spend time in Bangkok, to focus on their practices, as well as engage with local communities. 曼谷Tentacles

自2011年项目正式启动，A4国际艺术家驻留项目坚持每年持续推动更多国家与地区间的艺术家、策展人、设计师等的交流与互访，鼓励具有独立创想和艺术研究建树的个人或艺术小组深入社区与城市参与项目，通过国际驻留期间的在地创作、交流和展示，进一步推进自身和所属区域的文化互动与学术交流。根植于本地社区与城市，麓湖·A4美术馆不仅提供高效与专业的学术支持，还将带来驻留同期丰富的活动体验与对话，为参与者带来广阔、多元、深度的创作空间与可能性。

从2019年起，麓湖·A4美术馆迎来A4国际驻留艺术中心的落成以及周边更多公共空间与户外区域的使用，拓展基于驻留艺术中心而展开的艺术家展览、公共艺术项目、文化活动、区域互动与共生的现场，建立与周边社区、业态的广泛交流与合作，连接不同人群与机构，形成以公众沟通与交流为目标，城市新兴区域文化形态与结构为背景，以实验性与专业性为工作方法的文化艺术项目。

目前国际艺术家驻留项目主要分为四个不同部分，分别是邀请制驻留，城市间双向交换驻留，国际国内公开招募申请以及公共艺术项目专项驻留。国际艺术家驻留项目时间主要集中于每年5月至次年1月，可同时接待10-11位艺术家开展工作。A4国际驻留艺术中心位于麓湖生态城麓坊中心，包括10间独立的艺术家工作室，2个公共活动区域和1个1230平米的驻留展厅。
