Title:

The nexus of research and practice in and for language teacher education

Guest Editors

Andy Gao，澳大利亚新南威尔士大学教育学院教授，博士生导师，国际青年应用语言学者联盟理事长， SSCI期刊International Review of Applied Linguistics in Language Teaching主编，SSCI期刊The Asia-pacific Education Researcher资深副主编。

李茨婷，应用语言学博士，上海外国语大学英语学院教授,博士生导师，英语学院应用语言学科研团队带头人，中美富布莱特高级访问学者（2016-2017），曾获上海外国语大学2019年度科研成果一等奖。主要研究领域为社会网络分析理论与方法、二语语用、多语学习者身份构建、学术社会化等，近五年来在SSCI/CSSCI期刊发表20余篇，代表作发表在 Language Culture and Curriculum, Frontiers of Education in China, Language Awareness, 《外国语》, 《现代外语》, 《外语与外语教学》,《外语电化教学》等刊物，主持上海市哲学社会科学基金项目。

Special issue information:

This special issue addresses the gap between research and practice in language education. It calls for papers to explore how the nexus between research and practice can be strengthened in/for language teacher education.

We welcome submissions related to the following topics (this is not an exhaustive list):

1. Cultural traditions and educational policies that implicitly and explicitly promote the nexus of research and practice,

2. Professional communities that offer opportunities for researchers and practitioners to connect with one another,

3. University-school partnership that promotes the nexus of research and practice,

4. Institutional resources and infrastructures for the integration of research into practice,

5. Initiatives to promote and recognize collaborative research outputs from researchers and practitioners,

6. Language teacher education programs to integrate the nexus of research and teaching as a key component,

7. Individual language teachers' attitudes, aspirations, beliefs, motivation, prior experiences, and strategies,

8. Individual language teachers working with one another (e.g., the scholarship of learning and teaching communities) to sustain the nexus of research and practice, and so on.

Proposed Timeline

Interested contributors may submit abstracts (up to 300 words) to o the Special Issue Editors, Professor Andy Gao ([e-mail]), and Professor Citing Li ([e-mail]) by November 30 2023.Selection outcomes will be announced January 2nd, 2024

Submissions will be considered and processed until November 30, 2024.
