Step1 Lead-in

标题导入:

“Recently I’ve read great book called Romeo and JulietI’m deeply moved by  it. Have you ever read some great books?” 随即将 “Great books”呈现在黑板上,鼓励学生说出他们读过的名著。这里用学生们熟悉的话题导入新课,能够激发学生学习的兴趣,活跃课堂气氛,更重要的是通过老师的表述,如运用重读、稍慢的语速等方式强调被动语态的句子,让学生们在真实的语境中感知被动语态。


Step 2 Listening

听activity1,展示三幅图片,问“Who are they? Do you know something about them? Try to use the words in the table to help you.”,学生们两人一组描述图片,之后,听磁带看学生们的匹配是否与所听到的一致。

1. What’s up?

What’s up? 是一种非正式的用法,意思是怎么了/出什么事了?例如:

What’s up? You look veryworried? 怎么了?你看上去很焦虑。

2. But I think I’d describe Confucius more as a teacherand thinker than a writer.

这里的Confucius指孔子,为孔夫子的英语译名,是长期以来约定俗成的译法。more…than…在本句中表示与其说是不如说是…”。例如:

Success is more hard workthan good luck.  成功来自努力,而非好运。

3. … and Shakespeare’splays also make a lot of sense to us today. …

make sense的意思是合情理;明智;有意义。例如:

No wonder how I tried to read it, the sentence still did notmake any sense to me. 不管我们怎么努力地读,我还是不懂这个句子的意思。

Why did she do such a thing? It does not seem to make sense. 她为什么做这样的事?似乎没有道理。

discussv.讨论;谈论

discuss的过去分词是discussed, 现在分词是discussing,

discusssth. (with sb.)和某人谈论某事

e.g.We will discuss the plans with them at the meeting.

influence用作动词时,后面直接跟宾语,常可用于influencesb. to do sth.结构。

后面可以带动词不定式的复合结构或从句,也常用于besupposed to结构。

well-knownadj.众所周知的;著名的

bewell-known as意为作为……而著名相当于be famousas

e.g.Norman Bethune was well-known as a great doctor.

   白求恩作为一个伟大的医生而著名。

拓展:

bewell-known for意为因为……而著名,相当于be famousfor。除v-ing形式外,for后还可跟名词。

e.g.Yuan Longping is well-known for hybrid rice.

    袁隆平因杂交水稻而著名。

Mark Twain was anAmerican writer. His stories are set in the south of theUSover 100 years ago, and readersstill enjoy them very much.

被动语态(1)

如果想要表达孩子们喜爱这本书我们每天使用电脑,我们会说:

Children love this book.

We use computers everyday.

如果想要说这本书为孩子们所喜爱电脑天天都要使用到,则可以这样表达:

This book is loved bychildren.

Computers are used (by us)every day.

这两组句子表达的重点有所不同。第一组句子侧重动作的发出者,强调某人做了什么,而第二组句子侧重于动作的承受者,强调某事/某物如何。因此,当我们要突出某个行为的执行者时,应使用主动语态(第一组)来表达,而要强调动作的承受者时,就要使用被动语态(第二组)来表达。

被动语态的各类句式总结如下:

1. 肯定句:主语+be+动词过去分词(+by+动作执行者)

2. 否定句:主语+be not+动词过去分词(+by+动作执行者

3. 一般疑问句:be +主语+动词过去分词(+by+动作执行者)

4. 特殊疑问句:特殊疑问词+ be +主语+动词过去分词(+by+动作执行者)

请看以下例句:

This song is still loved by many young people today. 这首歌现在仍然受到许多年轻人的喜爱。(肯定句)

This camera is not made inJapan.这部相机不是日本制造的。(否定句)

The modern world is still influenced by his writings about life,education, government, art, maths and science.

In order to encourage more people toread more books, all kinds of activities are held on April 23rd.Till now many famous books are popular, such as Confucius’ works by Confuciusare still read by many people. I spend most of my free time reading famousbooks which affect me greatly.  I often share my happiness of readingbooks with my family and friends. Of all the books, I like The Adventures ofTom Sawyer by Mark Twain best. It tells how young people grow, how people loveeach other and how bad people pay for their actions.
