The president of Peru Pedro Pablo Kuczynski has narrowly survived the parliamentary vote in which the opposition sought to have him impeached. The US House of Representatives and Senate have approved a temporary spending bill that will avert a shutdown of federal government agencies after midnight in Friday. Both the House and the Senate voted for a four-week extension of funds to keep the government operating normally until January the 19th.
