【不离】法王如意宝：学佛不要鹦鹉学舌，但有太多人中招
彩虹再美，也不值得追寻
No Rainbow Is Worth Chasing After, No Matter How Beautiful
世上总有一些人，自己没有任何实践经验，嘴上却讲得口若悬河、滔滔不绝，
There are always people in the world who do not have any practical experience themselves but can spout an endless flow of eloquent words,
把不明真相的人们唬得一愣一愣的。
amazing and beguiling those who do not know the truth.
就像从没去过印度菩提迦耶的人，
It is like someone who has never been to Bodh Gaya in India but,
仅凭着从电视或照片得来的信息，
using facts gleaned from television or photographs,
就开始对大众讲述菩提迦耶的详细状况。
starts to give a detailed description of Bodh Gaya to others.
如是，他讲的肯定抓不住要点，也不值得人们信赖。
What such a person says cannot possibly convey the essence of the place, nor is it trustworthy.
而一个人如果去过菩提迦耶，那即使他不擅长表达，
But if a person has been to Bodh Gaya, then even if she were not an eloquent speaker,
但他所说的每一句话，相信也会与实际情况相差不多。
I would trust that every sentence she says is quite accurate.
传讲佛法也是如此，
Spreading the Buddhadharma is similar to this.
假如稍微有一点修证和经验，就不会把众生引入邪道。
If teachers have even a little experience and realization through practice, they will not lead living beings down a wrong path.
否则，像鹦鹉学舌一样，只是对书本上的东西照本宣科，
Otherwise, like a mimicking parrot, they merely echo what the books say,
那听闻者得不到真实的利益。
and their listeners do not receive any true benefit.
华智仁波切也说：“自己若没有丝毫体会与证悟，为他人讲经说法，意义并不大。”
Patrul Rinpoche also said, “If one has not the slightest personal understanding or realization, then reading the sutras and teaching the Dharma to others has little point.”
天边美丽的彩虹，传说是天人的弯弓，
According to legend, the beautiful rainbows in the sky are the bows of the gods.
可当我们去寻觅它时，却了无所得。
But when we seek them, we gain nothing.
同样，凡夫的花言巧语，尽管与其他凡夫的心态非常相应，听起来也好像掷地有声、引人入胜，
Similarly, the flowery and clever words of an ordinary being may fit well with the mind-set of other ordinary beings, sounding sonorous and alluring;
但因为没有一点真修实证，并不会带来什么“营养”。
yet, as they contain not an iota of true practice or realization, they will not bring much nourishment.
只有真正证悟了心性的修行人，他们所传讲的佛法，才能正确无误地引导众生走向解脱！
Only the Buddhadharma taught by practitioners who have truly realized the nature of the mind can unerringly guide living beings toward liberation!
