   " Nature and human behavior are my source of inspiration for every project. I look humanity as a part of the eco-system. My work flows through ecological terms and theories to understand humanity using concepts as integration, interaction or freedom and doesn’t always have a physical translation. I work with plants, animals, ceramics, but also with sound, new media and latest technologies. I always learn to translate my thoughts into something that others can perceive, and hopefully share. Actually I ́m working with the idea of migration and identity. I study the similarities between human and plant’s spread and all the social conflicts derived from the meaning of legal, freedom, solidarity or race."

 About The Artist

Miguel Moreno Mateos was born in Madrid in 1978. His first studies were Forest Engineering. Here is where he configured his mind between structuralism and his irrational approach to nature. All his work since then was focused on landscape, covering two Masters in Landscape Architecture and 15 years of experience. A merely technical approach to landscape and environment became insufficient to accompany his deep perception of nature and its changes, and he started to focus his efforts on raw creation. Creation conceived as the closest way to transmit and investigate his perception of time, ecology, art and humanity.

2013-2014 Master in Landscape Architecture, CEU University, Madrid

2005 Master in Public Space and gardening in the Universidad de Granada. Bachelor in Forestry Engineer, UP Polytechnic University of Madrid

2000-2008 Ikebana. Sogetsu school, Ikebana international.

2018 Teacher of the Organic Sculpture workshop for New York University.

2016 Japanese garden conference with Kei Ishikawa. Japan Foundation

2015-2018 Founder of ROOT art gallery and experimental center.

2011-2013 Coordinator of Avant Garden Project in Intermediae-Matadero Madrid
