编者按

    何为青春？美国诗人Samuel Ullman的著名散文诗“Youth”的开头句子如此定义：'Youth is not a time of life;/ it is a state of mind.'。对于他，青春并非岁月刻在脸上的印迹，而是一种超越肉体而追求精神心态平和的心境。 青春岁月，我们都走过。对于一些人，青春是一种冲动，一份激励，对于一些人，则是一份从容，一种自信，而对于另一些人青春，飞逝仓促，是一缕惆怅、一段过往，一份追忆。

    正值五四青年节来临之际，小编选取了席慕蓉的《青春》。追怀青春，人之常情。已有诸多相关作品，然席慕蓉却独辟蹊径，在此诗中以书作为喻依，描述青春如书般值得珍藏、珍惜，可她也意识到岁月易逝，书本亦会发黄，青春也将不在，留下的却是无限的追忆和依恋。此次选取的三个英译本，译者为英国威尔士班戈大学英语文学院许景城博士、以及两位佚名译者（读者如知译者名字，望在留言处告知，今后会更正并重新推送)。以飨读者。译本各有千秋，皆属佳译（虽然除了译本三的商籁体中混淆'thou'和'thee'的用法的瑕疵之外），具体细节，望读者自赏自析。河北卫视双语主播李强朗诵许景城英文译本，新闻主播王益豪朗诵汉语原文，录音师张晖进行音频编辑。特此感谢。

所有的结局都已写好 

所有的泪水也都已启程

却忽然忘了是怎样的一个开始

在那个古老的不再回来的夏日

无论我如何地去追索

年轻的你只如云影掠过

而你微笑的面容极浅极淡

逐渐隐没在日落后的群岚

遂翻开那发黄的扉页

命运将它装订得极为拙劣

含著泪我一读再读

却不得不承认 

青春是一本太仓促的书

On that old unrepeatable summer’s day

No matter how I used to follow trace

Thee young, in the flashy floating clouds lost

A softest and faintest smile on thou face

Which day by day disappeared amidst

From hill to hill after the sun’s falling

Then the yellowish title page unfolded

Fortune made it with awfully binding

With tears again and again had I read

Being unwilling to admit the truth

All is rush written in the book of youth
