OpenStudio | 这次去冰岛拍摄，把我这些年想拍的，都拍了！

工作室画廊_项目空间 很高兴地宣布第九期驻地艺术家李竹君在完成了两个月的驻地工作之后将在2019年8月25日（周日）为我们呈现她的驻地项目《未知空间中的旅程》。值得一提的是，此次的驻地项目开放日中，艺术家不仅要分享她驻地的成果，更希望邀请观众参与到她创作的过程中来！

StudioGallery_PROJECT space is thrilled to announce our 9th artist in residence Li Zhujun is going to present her two months’ work ‘A Journey In Unknown Space’ on this coming Sunday (2019.08.25).

In this Open Studio event, Li will not only share her production during this art residency but also invite us to really join in her creative process!

“这次驻地，我在暗房中印出了一组今年在冰岛拍摄的照片。做这组作品是因为尝试借用冰岛景观的纯粹性使自身脱离文明、意识形态及被构建的身份，回归纯自然。照片是对这个过程的一种诗意性记录。

通过在暗房中的创作，进入了一个未知的空间。在安静、黑暗的环境中对创作材料进行制作，反复的操作使人进入某种冥想。多次对一张底片进行成像和调整，使我深入底片所捕捉的世界，构建出一个三维空间。

而这个空间并非只是所拍摄的场景，它亦是冥想中的世界，是我从未去过的一个地方。我所印的照片仿佛打开了一扇窗，使我能窥见这个“空间”。它是现实生活中不能见到的维度，是一个可能世界，是精神性的。它已存在，却等待探索。 

在暗房中的创作允许我在未知中摸索这个世界的形状，对其进行猜想。这个过程就像这次在冰岛的旅途——独自在茫茫雪中行走，天地忽明又忽暗，一切出现而又消失。

希望能够邀请观众一起经历这段神奇的‘旅程’。”

"In this Open Studio event, I would like to share my creative process and my production during this art residency.

Over the last two months in the darkroom, I have printed a series of photos that I took in Iceland last winter. In making this group of works, I was attempting to place myself in the purity of the Icelandic landscape, and to separate the self from civilization, ideology and constructed identity, returning to pure nature. The photographs are the poetic notes of such process.

By printing in the darkroom, I sort of entered an unknown space. Manipulating materials in a quiet, dark environment, the repeated operations allow me to enter a state that is similar to meditation. Printing and adjusting an image from the negative countless times, I am able to dig into the captured world and to construct a three-dimensional space in the image.

And this space is more than the scene that was shot, it is also the world that has been being meditated upon, a place I have never been to. The photos I printed seem to open a window that allows me to have a glimpse of this world. It is a dimension that cannot be seen in real life, a possible world, a spiritual one. It already exists, waiting to be explored by us.

The work in the darkroom allows me to imagine such a world in the unknown. This process is like my trip in Iceland - walking alone in the snow, the universe clears and dims, everything appears and disappears.

I hope to invite the audience to experience this magical "journey" together with me."

关于艺术家 About Artist

李竹君，1989年出生于厦门，现工作生活于希腊。

本科毕业于伦敦中央圣马丁艺术学院纯艺术系

Zhujun Li (b.1989) was born in Xia Men, China. Now works and lives in Greece.

2009-2012:

BA (Hons) Fine Arts Degree at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, London
