永远不要相信“永远”
Never Believe in “Forever
无边的轮回苦海中，即使偶尔出现了少许快乐，也只是暂时的，
In the boundless sea of samsara, even if moments of happiness appear by chance, they are merely fleeting.
就仿佛妖女的微笑一样不能相信。
Like the smile of a siren, they cannot be trusted.
《本师传》中记载，释迦牟尼佛往昔曾是一位商主，
It is recorded in the Jataka tales that Shakyamuni Buddha was a merchant in a past life.
他到了一个罗刹洲上，许多妖女用各种伎俩和欲妙来引诱他。
When he traveled to the land of Locha, many sirens tempted him with myriad intrigues and sexual promises.
但他仔细观察后，发现她们虽然看上去万分迷人，但其本性都是痛苦、欺骗。
After careful observation, however, he discovered that although they appeared extremely charming, their nature was of suffering and deceit.
同样，轮回中的快乐也是如此，
The happiness in samsara is also like this.
它刹那刹那都在变化，犹如闪电一般无常。
It changes from moment to moment, as evanescent as a flash of lightning.
我们今天拥有的财产，明天是否还在呢？
All of our possessions today—will they still be there tomorrow?
今天强健的身体，明天能不能依然无病呢？……
Our body that is healthy today—will it still be free of illness tomorrow?
这一切都难以预料，
None of these things can be foretold.
真可谓“诸法如闪电”。
Truly, all phenomena are like lightning.
所以，世间上所有的法哪怕再美妙，也不存在任何的可靠性。
Thus, no matter how wonderful anything in the world is, it cannot be depended upon in the least.
不管它如何千姿百态，其实都是空性，我们没必要对其生起贪心。
No matter what shape or appearance it assumes, everything is inherently empty; we need not crave it.
就像一棵芭蕉树，外表看起来郁郁葱葱，
Take a banana tree: on the outside it seems so luxuriantly green,
但一层一层剥开它，就会发现里面完全是空心，没有一丝一毫的精华。
but when we peel it layer by layer, we find that the inside is completely empty, without an iota of essence.
因此，轮回中没有一个值得信赖的法，
In samsara, not a single phenomenon is worthy of trust.
当我们遇到好事时不必生贪，
When good things come our way, we need not cling.
遇到坏事时更没必要生嗔，
When bad things come our way, we certainly need not be angry.
对一切法都不要有什么执著。
Do not be attached to any phenomenon!

In reality, the precious teachings from His Holiness’s life are as vast as the ocean,
此书只收录了沧海一滴。
and this book contains only a drop of it.
留待以后因缘成熟，
When the causes and conditions are ripe in the future,
我将会翻译法王的其他教言，与有缘者分享！
I will translate His Holiness’s other teachings and share them with those who have the affinity!
