英文绘本故事｜Stone Soup 石头汤

Long ago,a young man came into a poor little town.

很久以前，一个年轻人来到了一个贫穷的小镇。

All he had was a soup pot and a spoon.

他只有一个汤锅和一把勺子。

The man was very hungry.

这个人很饿。

The young man stopped at a house. He knocked at the door.

年轻人在屋子前停住。他去敲了门。

“I am cold and hungry,”he said.”May I have a bit of food？”

“我又冷又饿，”他说。“我可以吃点东西吗?”

“This is a poor town,”said the woman.”We don’t have any food,   I ‘m sorry.”

“这是一个贫穷的城镇，”妇人说，“我很抱歉我们没有食物”。

Now,the woman had some beans ,but not enough to share.

现在，妇人只有一些豆子，但是不够去分享。

The young man went on until he came to another house.He knocked at the door.

年轻人继续走直到他走到了另一间屋子前，他敲了敲门。

“I am cold and hungry,”he said.”May I have a bit of food？”

“我又饿又冷，”他说。“我可以吃点东西吗？”

“I’m sorry,”said an old man.”This is a poor town.We don’t have any food.”

“我很抱歉，”老人说。“这是一个贫穷的小镇，我们没有什么食物。”

Now,the old man had a bit of meat,but not enough to share.

现在。这个老人有一点肉，但是不够去分享。

The young man went on and on from house to house.

年轻人继续走啊走，走过了一间又一间屋子。

All the people said they were sorry.But no one gave him any food.

所有的人都说很抱歉，但是没有人给他一点食物。

“This is a poor town,”they said.”We don’t have any food.”

“这是一个贫穷的小镇，”他们说。“我们没有什么食物”。

Now,all the people had a little food,but not enough to share.

此刻，所有人都有一点食物，但是不够去分享。

The young man was still very hungry. So he came up with a plan.

年轻人仍然很饿。于是他有了一个主意。

First,he made a fire right in the middle of the town.

首先，他在小镇的中心生起了火。

Then,he filled his pot with water.

接着，他往锅里放了水。

Next,he set the pot on the fire.

然后，他把锅放在火上。

Last,he picked up a nice,round stone and put it into his pot.

最后，他挑选了一个又圆又漂亮的石头并放到了锅里。

Steam rose from the pot.The young man stirred and stirred with his spoon.

蒸气从锅里冒出来。年轻人用勺子搅拌又搅拌。

“This stone soup looks good,”he said loudly.”Soon it will be ready to eat.”

“石头汤看起来不错”，他大声地说。“很快就可以吃了。”

People came out to see what the young man was doing.

大家都出来看这个年轻人在做什么。

“What are you doing?”they asked.

“你在做什么？”他们问。

“I’m making stone soup,”he said.

“我在做石头汤”，他说。

“I’ll give you some when it is ready.There will be plenty for all of us.”

“当汤好了我会给你们一些，这里对我们来说充足的”。

“How do you make stone soup?”asked a girl.

“你怎样做汤的？”一个女孩问。

“It’s easy,”said the young man.

“很简单”年轻人说。

“All you need is a stone.But it would be so much better with a few beans.”

“你只需要一块石头。但是用几颗豆子就好得多了。”

“I have a few beans,”a woman said.

“我有一些豆子，”一个妇人说。

The woman went off and got the beans.She dropped them into the pot.

这个妇人离开去拿豆子。她把豆子放进锅里。

“Mmm,”said the young man.”Thank you.This stone soup looks good.But it would be so much better with a bit of meat.”

“嗯~”年轻人说。“谢谢。石头汤看起来很好。但是有一点肉就好得多了”。

An old man said,”I have a bit of meat.”

老人说，“我有一点肉”。

The old man went off and got the bit of meat.He dropped it into the pot.

老人离开去拿肉。他把肉扔进锅里。

“Thank you,”said the young man.”Our stone soup is getting better and better.”

“谢谢，”年轻人说。“我们的石头汤变得越来越好了”。

“Do you want some carrots?”asked a woman.”I have some carrots.”

“你想要一些胡萝卜吗？”一个妇人说，“我有一些胡萝卜”。

“Do you want a potato?”asked a boy.”I have a potato.”

“你想要一些土豆吗？”一个男孩问，“我有一个土豆”。

“Do you want some corn?”asked a man.”I have a little corn.”

“你想要一些玉米吗？”一个男人问，“我有一点玉米”。

“Do you want some salt?”asked the girl.”I have some salt.”

“你想要一些盐么？”女孩问，“我有一些盐”。

“Yes,yes,yes,yes!”said the young man.So they all ran off to get the food.

“要，要，要，要！”年轻人说。他们都去拿东西了。

“Mmm,”said the young man.”Now the soup is ready.Get your bowls,and we can all eat.”

“嗯~”年轻人说，“现在汤好了。拿上你们的碗，我们可以吃了”。

“Mmm,”said the men.

“嗯~”男人说。

“Mmm,”said the women.

“嗯~”妇人说。

“Mmm,”said the children.

“嗯~”孩子们说。

“Thank you,”said all the people.

“谢谢，”所有的人（对年轻人）说。

“Now we know how to make stone soup.We will never be hungry again.”

“现在我们知道怎样做石头汤了。我们再也不会挨饿了”。

The young man just smiled and went on his way.

年轻人笑了笑，继续踏上旅程。
