三大平等
SECTION 35. The Three Types of Equality
第一、地位平等：
First, equality of status.
在这里，常住的僧人、今天刚来的僧人以及数一数二的堪布活佛们，座次绝没有高低之别。
At Larung there is not the slightest difference in the height of the seats among all the resident monastics, whether they be just-arrived newcomers or top khenpos and tulkus.
以前诵戒时是根据戒腊长短排序的，
In the past when we held the ceremony for restoring vows and purifying breaches, we sat in an order based on how long one has been ordained;
但现今由于僧人太多，所以并没有按戒腊来排列，每个人的地位都是一样的。
however, nowadays, because the Sangha has grown a lot, we no longer have that arrangement and everyone sits in an equal manner.
第二、做事平等：
Second, equality of serving the Sangha.
在这里，不管大大小小任何劳作，具备高超智慧、清净戒律、善良人格如金山般的堪布活佛，与今天新来的男女僧人一样，没有任何差别同等参加。
At Larung, no matter the kind of work, everyone without exception participates equally, whether the person is a gold-like khenpo or tulku with extraordinary wisdom, pure precepts, and virtuous character or a monk or nun just arrived.
第三、收入平等：
Third, equality of financial support.
有些寺院以前有这样的传统——上师、堪布等即使没有参加集体念经，也同样得到供养的一份，甚至两倍三倍翻番。
In the past some monasteries traditionally offered gurus and khenpos and the like the same amount of financial support as offered to prayer-service participants, or double or triple their portions, even when they had not participated in the collective chanting service.
那是根本不合理的。
This is completely unreasonable.
我本人，自这喇荣佛学院始建以来，从没有擅拿过僧众念经收入的一分钱。
Since Larung Buddhist Institute was founded, I have never taken even one penny from the offerings for prayer services.
所以，你们要详细翻阅《律本事》。
Therefore you should carefully read the Vinaya scriptures.
大家不管是什么身份，包括大堪布、大活佛，若参与了为信士做佛事，就接受供养的一份；
No matter who you are, great khenpos, great tulkus, if you participate in the prayer services you can take your portion of offerings;
没有参与，绝不能随意接纳，否则，依靠僧财也会犯大错。
if not, you should never take any, for to do so is to make a big mistake with the property of the Sangha.
