尽管目前疫情管控依然严厉,筹备个展总是困难重重,策划一年多的全新“他们+”个展《艺术元宇宙》即将在新加坡杨国际艺术中心与新老朋友们见面了。在这个全新的系列作品中动物替代人成了主角,它们并非是自然中的动物,而是赋予了拟人化的特征,在刻意营造的艺术展览现场中解读、阐释并消费着我们今天主流的国际当代艺术世界,形成诙谐幽默的画面互动,旨在对当今世界艺术所面临的众多问题做出“他们+”独立的思考与独特的回应,在观者会心一笑之后更多的是对艺术本身的思辨和哲学追问。

艺术家普遍都在追求独特的艺术个性和风格,那么他们同时也就落入了一个共性的窠臼之中,刻意营造“独特的”自我特征也成为一种偏执。佛家经典《金刚经》有云:“应无所住而生其心”和“无我相、人相、众生相、寿者相”被认为是修行者的最高境界,“他们+”一直努力思考在艺术的自我修行中,如何主动选择脱离个人主观执念的思维倾向,更为直接地面对我们今天所处时代的问题。
Artists are generally pursuing unique artistic personality and style, so they also fall into a common pattern, and deliberately creating "unique" self characteristics has also become a kind of paranoia. The Buddhist Classic "Vajra Sutra" says: "one should have no place to live and have his heart" and "no self, human, sentient beings and longevity" are considered to be the highest realm of practitioners. TAMEN have been trying to think about how to actively choose to break away from the thinking tendency of personal subjective obsession in the self-cultivation of art, and face the problems of our times today more directly.

“他们+”以他者视角,或回顾、或审视、或质疑着古今艺术史及其图像留存,通过诙谐幽默的重构与并置,创造性的改造了艺术史的存在顺序与价值判断逻辑,并拓宽了历史的认知维度和审美习惯,从而将严肃的艺术史探讨转化为可参与的新艺术实验。在这些“他们+”虚构但又以真实视觉呈现的绘画平台(画廊空间、拍卖现场、美术馆展览等等场景)里,上演着一幕幕亦真亦幻的艺术故事,致敬赞美或是反讽戏谑,任人评说。
TAMEN from the perspective of others, or review, or examine, or question the ancient and modern art history and its image retention. Through the reconstruction and juxtaposition of humor, they creatively transformed the existing order and value judgment logic of art history, and broadened the cognitive dimension and aesthetic habits of history, thus transforming the serious discussion of art history into a participatory Art Nouveau experiment. In these TAMEN fictional but visually realistic painting platforms (gallery space, auction sites, art museum exhibitions, etc.), there are scenes of real and illusory art stories, salutations, compliments, irony, banter, and comments.

在元宇宙概念日趋普及的今天,“他们+”创造性的将绘画作品打造成一个交互平台,形成当代艺术与观众的互动和重构,重新反思历史的艺术和今天的现实,让我们看到艺术家是如何运用全新的思维方式来呈现一个现实中的虚拟世界。本次展出的二十多件作品都是近两年来“他们+”的新作,希望给大家带来一些不同以往的体验。

“他们+”TAMEN 是一个由艺术家赖圣予、杨晓钢于2002年成立的艺术团体。两位艺术家分别于1978 年和1979年出生于湖南省,均毕业于中央美术学院版画专业,双双获得学士及硕士学位。合作二十年以来,二人通过绘画对话,用调侃、诙谐、趣味的艺术语言来呈现“他们+” 眼中的世界——这个全球化进程下的混沌而使人迷惑的大千世界。同时也表现出一种对于当代社会中个人主义迷恋的拒绝。2013年被美国加州大学伯克利分校评选为《你必須知道的25位中国当代艺术家》。2014年被智利著名艺术杂志《Arte al Limite》评选为《全球100位当代艺术家》。
作品广泛出版和刊登于上千种国内外专业艺术媒体和主流杂志、网站、报刊、美术馆画册等等。2017年被著名美术史家北大教授朱青生收录入所著《中国行为艺术三十年》并发表评论。2016年被著名美术史家刘淳在其代表作中国青年出版社出版的《中国油画史》增补收录评论。2013年CHARTA出版社出版的英文、法文版《21世纪中国当代艺术史》作为2000-2009年中国最具代表性艺术家之一进行收录和重点评介。2012年德国著名艺术出版社Prestel出版的《The Next Generation: Young Chinese Artists下一代,中国青年艺术家》评选为封面封底作品,并进行专栏评论和报道。2010年著名策展人、艺术批评家吕澎编著的《中国当代艺术史:2000-2010》作为21世纪以来重要当代艺术家作录入和讨论。
至今出版个人专著《失落的天堂 他们1999-2009》、《相忘于江湖》《微思想——他们启示录》、《里外》、《画布上的灵魂对话》等12本,并被上百种国内外美术馆画册出版刊登作品。
“他们+”TAMEN在北京、上海、深圳、广州、香港、纽约、阿姆斯特丹、鹿特丹、首尔、布鲁塞尔、长沙、新加坡等地举办个人展览21次,参加全球范围美术馆和重要机构的群展数百次并被各大博物馆、美术馆永久收藏。

TAMEN introduction
TAMEN is an art group founded by artists Lai Shengyu and Yang Xiaogang in 2002. The two artists were born in Hunan Province in 1978 and 1979 respectively. They both graduated from the Central Academy of fine arts majoring in printmaking, and both received bachelor's and master's degrees. Over the past 20 years of cooperation, the two have used ridicule, humor and interesting artistic language to present the world in the eyes of TAMEN - a chaotic and confusing world under the process of globalization. At the same time, it also shows a rejection of individualism infatuation in contemporary society. In 2013, it was selected as "25 contemporary Chinese artists you must know" by the University of California, Berkeley. In 2014, it was selected as "100 contemporary artists in the world" by the famous Chilean art magazine "arte al limit".
His works are widely published and published in thousands of professional art media at home and abroad, mainstream magazines, websites, newspapers, art galleries, etc. In 2017, he was included in the book "thirty years of Chinese performance art" by Zhu Qingsheng, a famous art historian and professor of Peking University, and commented on it. In 2016, it was supplemented and included by the famous art historian Liu Chun in his representative work "history of Chinese oil painting" published by China Youth Publishing House. As one of the most representative artists in China from 2000 to 2009, the English and French editions of the history of contemporary art in China in the 21st century published by Charta press in 2013 were included and reviewed. In 2012, the next generation: young Chinese artists, the next generation of young Chinese artists, published by Prestel, a famous German Art Publishing House, was selected as the cover and back cover works, and carried out column comments and reports. In 2010, the history of Chinese Contemporary Art: 2000-2010, compiled by Lu Peng, a famous curator and art critic, was recorded and discussed as an important contemporary artist since the 21st century.
So far, he has published 12 personal monographs, including lost paradise 1999-2009, forgotten in the Jianghu, micro thoughts - their revelation, inside and outside, and soul dialogue on canvas, and has been published in hundreds of art galleries at home and abroad.
TAMEN has held 21 personal exhibitions in Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, New York, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Seoul, Brussels, Changsha, Singapore and other places, participated in hundreds of group exhibitions of art museums and important institutions around the world, and has been permanently collected by major museums and art galleries.
