英文绘本故事｜Mouse Shapes 老鼠形状

The mice were running from the cat. 

"Hurry!" said Violet.

老鼠们在躲避猫的追赶。

快点，Violet说。

"Let's hide in here," said Martin.

我们藏在这吧，Martin说。

After a while, Fred said,"I think we lost him."

过了会，Fred说，我想我们甩掉他了。

"Look,we've been hiding in shapes!"said Violet.

"We can make things with them. Here's a square. A triangle on top makes it a perfect home for a little mouse."

看，我们刚才是藏在好多形状里，Violet说。

我们能用它们来做东西。这是个正方形。在顶上加个三角形就成了一个完美的老鼠小屋。

"A triangle and a rectangle make a tree."said Martin."This circle is the sun."

三角形加长方形做成树，Martin说，圆形做太阳。

"But these triangles are different,"said Fred. "Triangles are tricky,"said Violet. "But any shape with three sides is a triangle."

可是这些三角形都不一样，Fred说。

三角形是变化多端的，Violet说，任何有三条边的形状都是三角形。

Fred put two circles on a rectangle."It's a wagon for the little mouse in the house," he said.

"Two diamonds make a book for the little mouse to read," said Violet.

Fred把两个圆形放在一个长方形上。这是给家里的老鼠宝宝拉的小车，他说。

两个菱形可以做成给老鼠宝宝看的书，Violet说。

“Here's one oval,two circles,and eight triangles,"said Martin."It's a fish!"

"Watch out----the cat likes fish,"said Violet.

一个椭圆，两个圆形，还有八个三角形，Martin说，变成一条鱼！

小心，猫喜欢鱼，Violet说。

”Hey,let's make the cat!" said Fred.

Violet put on the eyes and nose.

Fred stuck on the ears.

嘿，我们来做只猫吧，Fred说。Violet放上眼睛和鼻子。Fred插上耳朵。

And Martin added the teeth.

“It looks just like the real cat," he said.

"Only better."

然后Martin加上了牙齿。它就像只真猫，他说，比真的还好。

Just then the real cat pounced. 

The mice ran away……

就在这时，那只真的猫扑过来了。

老鼠们赶紧跑……

and didn't come back until the cat was gone.

"That cat's too sneaky," said Violet."If only we were bigger."

"I have an idea!"said Fred.

一直到猫不见了才敢回来。

那只猫真是鬼鬼祟祟的，Violet说，要是我们个头能再大些就好了。

我有个好办法，Fred说。

The clever mice got to work.

Soon they made three big scary mice……

聪明的老鼠们动起手来。很快他们就做成了三只吓人的大老鼠……

and surprised the cat!

把猫吓了一大跳！

The cat ran away,fast.

"What a scaredy-cat,"said Violet."Now what can we make for the little mouse in the house?"

"It's time for lunch,"said Fred."Let's make him some Swiss cheese."

猫飞快地跑了。

真是只胆小鬼猫，Violet说，那现在我们要给家里的老鼠宝宝做点什么呢？

午餐时间倒了，Fred说，我们给他做些瑞士奶酪吧。

So they did.

他们就这么做了。
