金刚萨埵法会
SECTION 40. Vajrasattva Dharma Gathering
开金刚萨埵法会的原因是，我们从无始生世以来积累的一切堕罪，尤其是破誓言的一切罪，最殊胜的对治法就是金刚萨埵六字真言。
We hold the Vajrasattva Dharma gathering because we have accumulated all kinds of downfalls, especially the misdeed of breaking vows, and the most supreme antidote to purify them is the six-syllable mantra of Vajrasattva.
《金刚手威猛续》等中说：如果念诵十万遍此心咒，破根本誓言之罪也能清净。
It has been said in The Wrathful Vajrapāni Deliverance Tantra and so forth that if one recites this mantra 100,000 times, even the misdeed of breaking the fundamental vows can be purified.
那障碍往生极乐世界的舍法罪与无间罪，今生能得清净就更不用说了。
Therefore there is no need to mention that the obstacles to Dewachen — the misdeeds of forsaking the Dharma and the five heinous actions — can be completely purified in this very lifetime.
所以，这不仅对出家人，而且对在家男女信众也非常重要。
This Vajrasattva Dharma gathering is important for not only monastics but also laypeople.
念诵的数量，续中说念十万遍，但按照所说的“圆满劫所念诵数量，具诤时要增到四倍”，为此需要念四十万遍。
In the All Lives Tantra, it is said the number of mantra recitations should be 100,000, but “the required number of recitations in the Eon of Perfection needs to be multiplied by four in the Age of Conflict,” so we need to recite it 400,000 times.
诵咒时，要吐字清晰、一心专注所缘境来念诵，
When chanting the mantra, articulation and single-pointed attention on one object are required.
上等者安住于生起次第、圆满次第的境界来念，最低也要具足四种对治力来念。
The superior are required to reside in the state of the stage of generation and the stage of completion. At the very least, one should recite the mantra with the four opponent powers.
如果这样诵咒，自性罪及破别解脱、菩萨戒、密宗誓言的一切罪，以及舍法罪、无间罪、享用信财的罪障等，一定会无余得以清净。
Reciting in this way, one will surely purify without residue all misdeeds — the misdeeds by nature, the misdeeds of breaking the precepts of individual liberation as well as the bodhisattva vows and the tantric vows, the obscuration of forsaking the Dharma, the five heinous actions, and misappropriating offerings.
这一法会的施主，是金刚降魔洲或国际学经会。
The patrons of this Dharma gathering are the Vajra Devil-Subduer District or the International Dharma Study Association.
之所以由他们做施主，是因为众多的汉族信士要来参加，而且那时气候也冷暖适宜。
They are patrons because numerous Han Chinese followers will come to participate and also because this Dharma gathering is held during the most suitable season when it is neither cold nor hot.
特别是，我在玉哲取的甚深伏藏法《金刚萨埵仪轨》后文中提及：此法在伏藏地附近修行容易成就，利生事业主要普及汉地。
In particular, the postscript of the Vajrasattva Sādhana, the profound hidden treasure that I revealed at Lake Yutse (Gyu rtse), says that this liturgy will be easily accomplished if practiced near the place of hidden treasure and that it mainly benefits sentient beings in Han Chinese areas.
所以我想，劝勉汉地信众念诵金刚萨埵心咒，应该比其他法门更有利。
Therefore I think it will be more beneficial to encourage followers in Han Chinese areas to recite the mantra of Vajrasattva rather than any other practices.
