北京市有关部门发布的规划文件指出，北京计划建设数字贸易试验区，以进一步推动技术创新及服务产业和数字经济对外开放。

Beijing is planning to build a pilot digital trade zone in a bid to boost technological innovation and opening-up of its services sector and digital economy, according to plans released by Beijing authorities on Monday.

为更好发挥北京在中国服务业开放中的引领作用，我们将支持北京打造国家服务业扩大开放综合示范区，加大先行先试力度，探索更多可复制可推广经验；设立以科技创新、服务业开放、数字经济为主要特征的自由贸易试验区，构建京津冀协同发展的高水平开放平台，带动形成更高层次改革开放新格局。

To better leverage Beijing's role in spearheading the opening-up of China's services sector, we will support the municipality in developing a national integrated demonstration zone for greater openness in the services sector. It will enable Beijing to take bigger, bolder steps as a trailblazer and gain more experience that would be replicable and scalable. We will also support Beijing in setting up a pilot free trade zone characterizing scientific and technological innovation, opening-up of the services sector, and digital economy. It will serve as a platform of high-standard opening-up for the coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, and open up new horizons for reform and opening-up at a higher level.

President Xi Jinping stressed coordinated efforts to advance the construction of a modern logistics system to provide strong support for a new development pattern on Sept 9. Xi, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, made the remarks at the eighth meeting of the Central Committee for Financial and Economic Affairs. He is also head of the committee.

要统筹推进现代流通体系硬件和软件建设，发展流通新技术新业态新模式，完善流通领域制度规范和标准，培育壮大具有国际竞争力的现代物流企业，为构建以国内大循环为主体、国内国际双循环相互促进的新发展格局提供有力支撑。

Coordinated efforts are needed to advance the building of hard and soft infrastructures for modern logistics system, develop new logistics technologies and business forms, improve industry regulations and standards, and nurture modern logistics companies with global competitiveness, so as to provide strong support for the new development pattern in which domestic and foreign markets boost each other, with the domestic market as the mainstay.

9月14日，国家主席习近平同欧盟轮值主席国德国总理默克尔、欧洲理事会主席米歇尔、欧盟委员会主席冯德莱恩共同举行会晤，会晤以视频方式举行。会议决定，中欧将建立环境与气候高层对话和数字领域高层对话，打造中欧绿色合作伙伴、数字合作伙伴关系。

China and the EU will establish a China-EU High Level Environment and Climate Dialogue and a China-EU High Level Digital Cooperation Dialogue, and forge China-EU green and digital partnerships, according to a decision at a leaders' meeting on Sept 14. The meeting, held via video link, was co-chaired by President Xi Jinping, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, whose country currently holds the EU's rotating presidency, European Council President Charles Michel and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.

The people's security is the cornerstone of national security, says the article.
