僧人可积财吗？
SECTION 48. Can Monastics Accumulate Property?
有人觉得，出家人做生意没有什么。
Some people think there is no problem with monastics doing business.
其实，做生意中十不善业都齐全了。
In the process of doing business, however, one can easily commit all the ten nonvirtuous deeds.
要是做大生意，不管比丘、沙弥、居士，是谁都必定会破根本戒。
If you have a big business, no matter if you are a monk, a novice monk, or a layperson, you are bound to break the fundamental precepts.
不失戒律而做成正当生意，是相当困难的。
It is quite difficult to conduct business without violating precepts.
如果一生当中一直做生意，那到死的时候，是独自前往阎罗城的时刻，亲属们帮不上忙，财产受用也无济于事，决定有利的就是正法，决定有害的就是不善业。那时，罪业与你相伴，只会带来痛苦。
If you spend your entire life engaged in business, when you head to the city of Yama after you die none of your relatives can help you and none of your properties and enjoyments can assist you. At that time, the only thing that could benefit you is the sublime Dharma. What can definitely harm you are the nonvirtuous actions that will accompany you, bringing you mere suffering.
那时，一般人不仅放不下财物，而且依依不舍中自己已毫无办法，只有能力立下“我们有的财物这么办、那么办”的遗嘱，除此之外什么也没有。
Ordinary people cannot let go of their property. No matter how involuntary the action, they have no choice but to leave a will of their property in this or that way. They can do nothing else.
所以，大家不要积累大量的财物，尤其是当今积财人里有僧人，其中更甚者是假活佛。
Therefore you should not accumulate too many properties. However, as we know, nowadays some monastics accumulate great wealth, and among them, the worse cases are imposters — fake tulkus.
僧人和活佛们要好自为之！
Monastics and tulkus should look out for themselves!
你们还是一丝不苟地闻思修行才对，华智仁波切不是说过“活佛们刚能骑马时就肆无忌惮地享受黑财，那就是在毁坏自他”吗？
It is more appropriate for you guys to earnestly listen, reflect, and meditate. Didn’t Patrul Rinpoché say: “When they can just ride a horse, if tulkus unscrupulously enjoy black offerings,* they destroy themselves and others.”
如果你们只是有个活佛名称就到处乱跑的话，恐怕连自己的戒律都很难保得住。
If you travel around too much with merely a tulku title, I am afraid that you may not be able to secure your precepts.
昨天我不是讲了嘛，别人说你是活佛，你自己也承认是活佛，但如果你不是一位真活佛，就有可能犯了上人法妄语的根本戒，那是非常严重的。
As I mentioned yesterday, if you are not a genuine tulku but admit to being such when others call you a tulku, it is very possible that you violate one of the fundamental precepts. The defeat is of falsely claiming to have the higher qualities of noble ones when one is merely an ordinary human being and has no such higher qualities. This is a grave misdeed.
活佛们不要从小就恣意放纵地吃信财。
Tulkus should not enjoy offerings recklessly from childhood on.
米拉日巴尊者说过：“享用黑财生命剑，斩断解脱之命根。”
Jetsun Milarepa once said: “The vital sword of black offerings can cut off the life root of liberation.”
能斩断解脱命根的，确实就是这个黑信财。
It is indeed black offerings that can cut off the life root of liberation.
只有具备生起次第、圆满次第修行境界这一生铁利齿的菩萨，才能咬得动黑信财的铁丸子。
Only bodhisattvas with the sharp iron teeth of accomplishment in practicing the generation and the completion stages are able to chew the iron balls of black offerings.
*Offerings made to request the transference of consciousness of the newly deceased.
