僧尼少交往
SECTION 50. Limit Association between Monks and Nuns
喇嘛、尼众，包括居士林在内，都作了戒律方面的整顿，现在整个学院的四众应该都是清净的群体。
We have neatened the disciplines among monks, nuns, and lay practitioners in our institute, so now the fourfold disciples here should all be pure communities.
如果谁不能守护杀、盗、淫、妄、酒这五条，在这里最多只能住五天，不可常住。
Anyone who cannot observe the five precepts of restraining from killing, stealing, sex, lying, and drinking can stay here at most for only five days; they are not qualified to be residents.
特别要注意的是男女僧人之间的清规。
You should attend to the discipline of monks and nuns in particular.
你们应该静下心来好好想一想：你们来到这里，是为修行而来的，是想守戒而来的，
You must think it over with a calm mind — you are here to pursue Dharma practice and to uphold pure discipline,
千万不要随那些捉弄人而让人破誓言的怨鬼所转，我以前也曾经教诫过你们。
and you should never let Damsi, the demon who tricks people to violate samaya, control you. I have exhorted you about this before.
一开始想注视异性的时候，就要小心提防；
Be wary at the initial stage when you find you want to look at someone of the opposite gender;
如果没有注意，会发展到想和异性接触；
if you are not aware of it and don’t take great care, you may want to touch him or her.
如果没有防患于未然，那久而久之自然会染上过失。
If you do not nip this desire in the bud, your precepts will gradually be contaminated and transgressed.
为此，僧尼要比以往更严格，不要破坏有关的戒规。
Therefore monks and nuns should guard themselves even more strictly than before neatening and never violate related precepts and regulations.
一旦破了根本戒，那就玷污了珍贵的佛教，再没有比这更有害的了。
Once you break the fundamental precepts, you denigrate precious Buddhism, and nothing is more harmful than this.
因此，请你们好好思考，假设实在不能守戒，那就各自随缘回家吧。
So you should really think it over, and if you find that you cannot observe the precepts anymore, go home by yourself as the condition leads you to do.
