介 Brief Introduction


The production-oriented approach (POA) has been developed over ten years to overcome the weaknesses in English instruction intertiary education in Mainland China, trying to integrate the strengths of Western instructional approaches with Chinese contextual features and consisting of three components: (a) teaching principles; (b) teaching hypotheses; and (c) teacher-mediated teaching processes. Output oriented, input-oriented and integrated-oriented approaches have already gotten much admittance in the process of teaching and learning around the world, while there are still weakness and limitation needed to be fixed and integrated more seamlessly among those methods. Meantime, POA serves to help bridge the gap between knowledge-oriented and task-based conceptional teaching and learning through motivating, enabling and assessing, based on the principles of learning-centered principle (LCP), learning-using integration principle (LUIP), and whole-person education principle (WPEP).

  本文通过表格对比,图示阶段剖析与具体文本实例来阐明POA的实际运用与    可操作的阶段步骤,深刻揭露中国现实大学英语教学的局限与可进行的步骤    改进与创新,旨在通过POA的教学准则与相应程序来明晰外语学习的真实目    标与可到达效果。

目前中国的大学英语教学已经从不同角度深刻研究了国外各类教学方法与实际效果,例如知识导向,任务导向与融合等方法有着自身不同程度的优势与不足。本文从研究与阐述POA,以及其发展与反思来表述其可实行性,揭示大学英语的教学方式的潜能与发展,以便更好服务于其他层级的英语教学甚至于对其他国家与地区的教学产生积极影响。中国的英语教学可参照前人有价值的理论与方法,但是也因根据本国自身实际情况产出适合自身的理论基础与方式方法,产出导向法就是很好结合不同方法与具体学生实际总结与融合的例子,值得学习与思考。
