第六十一节
诵经诵咒的功德
SECTION 61. The Merit of Reciting Sutras and Mantras
我们修行大圆满法的人，《自然佛法一子续》，最好是用金子写，
We, the Great Perfection practitioners, should write The Tantra of the Single Child of the Doctrine with gold.9
即使不能做到那样，但四指的经函，直至临终前要一直不离体温带在身上，死后与尸体一同火化。
If you cannot do this, you should carry it always, in a size the width and length of four fingers, and keep it at your body temperature all your life. When you die, have it cremated with your body.
每天都要念一遍，就算没有念诵其余任何经，也要念这个续。
Recite it once every day. Even if you have no time to recite other sutras, this tantra has to be recited every day.
这个法理是极其甚深的究竟法，即便有人到空行刹土去寻找，也不可能得到比这更殊胜的一个法。
It is the principal profound practice of the ultimate practice, and even if someone could go to seek a Dharma teaching in a pure land, she could not find anything more supreme than this one.
现今喇荣佛教大学，几乎没有一个人不拿念珠的，
In today’s Larung, you would be hard put to find anyone who does not have a mala10 in his or her hand.
这应该是我的贡献，我不确定你们有没有这么说。
This is my contribution, but I am not sure you have acknowledged it.
只要持着念珠，就表明是观世音菩萨的随行者。
As long as you hold a mala, it indicates that you are a follower of Bodhisattva Avalokiteśvara.
华智仁波切不是说过嘛，“诸佛总集的一位本尊，观世音菩萨；密咒总集的一个心咒，六字大明咒；生圆总集的一个妙法，菩提心。
Didn’t Patrul Rinpoché once say: “Chenrezi is the one deity who embodies all buddhas; the six-syllable mantra is the one mantra that embodies all mantras; bodhichitta is the one practice that embodies all practices of the development and completion stages.11
于‘知一解脱一切’的境界中，诵六字真言”。
Knowing the one that liberates all, recite the six-syllable mantra.”
念观音心咒！念观音心咒！念观音心咒！嗡玛尼贝美吽。
Recite the mantra of Chenrezi! Recite the mantra of Chenrezi! Recite the mantra of Chenrezi! Om mani padme hum!
藏地雪域本是观世音菩萨的所化刹土，
Tibet, the Land of Snow, was originally the land tamed by Bodhisattva Chenrezi.
即使你现在别的什么也不能做，但拿串念珠念观音心咒，也应该做得到。
If you cannot do anything else, you should at least recite his mantra with a mala in your hand.
或者念金刚萨埵心咒、文殊心咒、莲师心咒都无有差别，所有本尊都是一位本尊的本体。
Or else you can recite the mantra of Vajrasattva, Manjushri, or Guru Rinpoché. There is no difference, all the deities share the same essence.
不会有连这样行善也不会的人，如果有谁说不会行善，那纯粹是在说妄语。
Nobody could fail to practice this virtue; if anyone says he is incapable of doing this, it is a sheer lie.
